Why does my School need the LeapStart program?
The traditional PE class suffers from short comings in most schools. Fitness is seen as a punishment tool; the focus is primarily on star athletes, children are often found standing in line waiting for their turn to either play or use sports equipment and the bossy aggressive children are often found picking on the quieter ones. While there is no dispute that an active and physically fit child is more likely to better at academics and also have greater self confidence, the question comes down to which program has a proven method of achieving those results. LeapStart is the easiest to learn and use Sport and Fitness curriculum available today. LeapStart provides schools with a program that complies with NASPE (National Association of Sport and Physical Education, USA) Standards and is structured to be inclusive, active and fun. We teach skills to children that allow them to excel at almost any sport that they chose to participate in. We also give parents insights into the sports that their children are likely to excel in. Research shows that physical activity boosts children’s ability to concentrate and has a considerable positive impact on overall academic achievement. LeapStart is the only program in the world that has published more than 45 research papers in the sport and fitness space. For a complete list of publications,

What is the minimum amount of time you need per week for the PE Session?
Ideally, we need four, forty-five minute sessions per week for the effective implementation of the program. However, we will even be happy to work with one or two sessions per week. It all depends on the current PE curriculum at school.
-
Do my PE teachers become redundant? What role will they play?
Not at all! Our endeavour is to work with them in the deployment of our program. Our LeapStart instructors will work in tandem with your PE coaches to successfully implement the program in your school.

What will be the reporting structure? PE Coaches/ School Management/ Parents
Our PE Instructors will work with the PE Team at your school. The reporting structure will entail our PE instructors interacting at regular intervals with the HOD of your school, the school management and the parents. Our program is inclusive not only in its structure but also in its assessments.

I feel my PE program is already excellent. Why should I stop what I’m currently doing and replace it with LeapStart?
You shouldn't! LeapStart is a supplement, a professional growth opportunity, another tool for your ever growing toolbox! After participating in a LeapStart workshop, some teachers choose to use LeapStart everyday because they love the content so much, it’s already organized and sequenced for them, and it saves a lot of preparation time. Other teachers select parts of LeapStart, hoping to enhance their current programs. It's always the individual teacher who (once she/he learns more about what LeapStart offers) that makes the personal decision of how to use it. LeapStart workshops present options and never force anyone to do something they don't believe in. The discovery method allows people receive their own ‘ah-ha’s and plan the course that's best for their students. Also having an additional pair of hands to assit in assesments and skill identification and also upgradation of the equipment one uses does help.
