The finale of the LeapStart Junior Football League was held at the Samhita Academy. The league which kicked off in mid. November saw 8 schools participate across age groups of under 12,10 & 8 for boys and girls. The league is an initiative to take football to the grassroots.
“The LeapStart Junior Football League is modeled around the weekend leagues in the US and UK and primarily was started to ensure children play as many matches as possible. Too often I see academies concentrate on weeks and weeks of practice time while ignoring a crucial aspect of an athlete’s development - match time“ Dhruv Nagakatti, CEO
Played on a weekend league format where different schools host the games each week, the League emphasizes on game time, team participation and fairplay. Over the 7 weeks, 23 teams, 300 children played over 100 matches of football.
The winners of this edition were Most Wins - Greenwood High, Most Enthusiastic team - Sacred Hearts Girls High School, Most Improved team - Samhita Academy, Most Consistent team - Delhi Public School South.
